We had a repeat recipe this week that made our mouth water as it was baking and after, our inside warm from enjoying it together. It is a dessert where the feature is fruit that are not over burdened with extras.
Apple Raspberry Crisp is a colourful and yummy twist on a fall favourite.
Desserts can actually be a part of a healthy diet. One like this, relies more on natural sugar than added sugar and has the bonus of nutrients packed in. The topping on this one may seem sparse compared to most apple crisps but that lets the apples and raspberries take over the flavour.
The recipe comes from an old cook book I have by Anne Lindsay, but I also found the recipe here, on the second page of the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s pamphlet, Family Eating; simple steps to Healthy Choices. Check out the rest of the pamphlet too. There are great tips for eating well as a family.
Savour and enjoy.
Hugs and blessings,
